10 DANI TREKKING and BALIEM FESTIVAL

TOUR ITINERARY :
Day.1 : JAYAPURA – WAMENA ( D ).
your early arrive at Sentani Airport of Jayapura, directly connect flight to Wamena, check in hotel. Rest of day you may walking around visit local market nearby and to see local people of how their activity and for familiarization.

Day.2 : DANI – TREKKING (B,L,D).
Pre-down breakfast in your hotel, then by local transport transfer to the South Baliem of Kurima together with the porters starting a safari trekking through the baliem Gorge then hiking-up to reach the first village “Kilise”. A picnic lunch provided on the way. Late afternoon we will arrive at KILISE village, time available by walking around to see traditional houses and people activity, to see how dani woman cooking by traditional, and find a good panorama for photo stop. Back to your accommodation, dinner and overnight stay in Dani guest house. ( The average trekking today is 3-4 hour include brake ).

Day.3 : DANI – TREKKING (B,L,D).
Breakfast, start the 2nd day hiking through the path and continue passing through Ibiroma village here having brake and meet elementary students and taking pictures, continue hiking up and down through the hills, here we will enjoy a spectacular view and surroundings face to baliem gorge and during the trek, we always meet local people they going and back from wamena, sometimes they offering local fruits such banana, advocado, passion fruits, we have picnic lunch will be provided. Today we expect to reach Tangma or Wamarek village for stay overnight nearby the river. Our porters organize tent. (The average trekking 4-5 hour include brake.)

Day.4 : DANI – TREKKING (B,L,D).
Breakfast, walking down through the Baliem Gorge passing through a suspension bridge to cross then continuing high up, trekking today seems to be more challenge, we will take brake on the way up among the tropical forest nearby water fall, picnic lunch provided. Continue climb up to reach Wesagalep village, we stay one night at elementary school or local house. ( The average trekking today is 5-6 hour include brake ).

Day.5 : DANI TREKKING (B,L,D).
Breakfast, continuing climb up passing through the gardens where people are actively daily working in the gardens, during the day climb up, we will see how local people harvesting potatoes, vegetable, cabbage, carrot, etc, very cold temperature mostly in the morning make the plants totally very fertile, then we passing into the jungle surrounded by tropical forest and kind of birds, We will have lunch brake down to nearby stream’s site where our cook prepares meals and provide a highland coffee / tea, after brake we continue hiking to reach the next village-USEREM, here we will organize our tent and stay overnight in elementary school or teacher house. (The average trekking is 6-7hour include brake )

Day.6 : DANI TREKKING (B,L,D).
Breakfast, hiking down through the baliem gorge sometimes we step over the fans and continue hiking down along the path with little jungle surroundings, but the road sleeper to make more concentrate during a trek, we will take brake on the way down, we expect to reach next village – ‘SYOPKOSIMO’ we take accommodation in Priest house or teacher house. Simple lunch will be provide in the village. After lunch we entering the village to see and enjoy a mock battle filed and pig ceremony perform by the dani people. (the average trekking today is 3-4 hours). Time available for walking around the village for civilization.

Day.7 : TREKKING BACK TO WAMENA, {B,L,D).
Breakfast, packing all luggage and equipment, start trekking back to Kurima, here our car waiting for us transfer to wamena, stay in hotel. ( Lunch box provided ).

Day.8 : FULL DAY BALIEM FESTIVAL (B,L,D).
Pre-down breakfast in your hotel then transfer to the North Baliem to see the process of FESTIVAL, back to Wamena called at district Kurulu, entering to the village to see A Smoked Mummy of the chieftain age 360 years old. Entering to another village to enjoy the local life style and activity and to see natural underground cave, Late afternoon back to Wamena, overnight stay in hotel.

Day.9 : WAMENA – JAYAPURA (B,L,D).
Pre-down breakfast in your hotel, time until transfer to the airport to get flight back to Jayapura. Lake sentani tour, One night stay in hotel.

Day.10 : JAYAPURA – DEPARTURE (B).
Breakfast, free time until transfer to Sentani Airport for your flight departure to the next destination.
